Robin Groom
The sad news is announced of the sudden death from a heart attack of Robin Groom, aged 70, one-time resident of Herne Hill. He leaves a wife, Emma, and a son Jonathan. The funeral took place on Friday 10th November in St. Mary's, Chediston.
Jason played the organ voluntaries beautifully as we awaited proceedings and in the service, itself. Edward took a very moving service and in his address, he described Robin as a very private and caring person who had been a competent farmer with a dairy herd when resident with his two uncles at Herne Hill. On the sale of Herne Hill, he and Emma with son Jonathan moved to the outskirts of Holton. He was very interested in the arts, some of which he was very knowledgeable about. He gave me photos of the interior of the old Chediston Hall when occupied by the de Lacroix’s. He loved visiting Norwich Castle Museum and had recently much enjoyed the “Nelson Exhibition” which was held there. He was a very good neighbour to us and the Burroughes family.
Our sympathies and condolences go to Emma and Jonathan.
