An exciting venture started recently by Linstead residents David & Cecilia Metherell. Metherells Auction House is based in Halesworth and the first acution was recently held. This appeared to be very successful indeed with many attendees.

The Metherells write:
Over 200 people visited The Old Print Works in Halesworth on 1st June to witness the first resident auction to be held in the town for over 30 years. Born out of ideas and suggestions made by local people to the Portas Town Team, the Directors worked closely with the Team to develop a business that would not only draw people to its centre within The Old Print Works but also enable other business in the town to benefit from the visitors.
Setting up in only 6 weeks was quite a challenge and there is still much to accomplish but it is hoped that the draw of monthly sales will continue to attract visitors for years to come.
We would like to thank everyone who helped to make our first auction a success, starting with the Portas Town Team, through to staff help on the day and those who turned up to bid or just wished to soak up the atmosphere. We hope to see many of them again at our next auction on 6th July.
David & Cecilia Metherell, & George Harvey.

In the meantime we wish the Metherells a great success.
