It is with great sadness that we report that Heather Burroughes passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 9th November just before 7am. Our thoughts are with Gib, Sarah, Belinda and Claire and the family. She will be sorely missed by the community.
We are sure that everyone in Chediston and many people in Halesworth and the surrounding villages will all have known and loved her for her great kindness and friendliness to all that she knew. She raised thousands of pounds for “Traidcraft” and we all loved going to her open days at Ambleside. As well as being able to buy lovely gifts etc for Christmas, we were always made so welcome by her and Gilbert.
She played the organ for us in Chediston on many occasions and did many beautiful flower arrangements for us. She was planning to do the pedestal for our Harvest thanksgiving this year with the help of Sarah but sadly was too ill. She was always at the ready to help us with any produce needed and her home-made marmalade and lemon meringue pies were legendary. She will be missed by so many.
A service of celebration for her life will be held on November 24th at the URC church, Halesworth at 2pm.
