Many of us who have watched the reconstruction of Hamish Morten's Bentley now have the opprtunity to see it racing!

As some of you may have heard, I’m lucky enough to have the opportunity to be racing at Silverstone in a 1928 Bentley, which I had helped my father put together. The email below gives some details of the race meeting at Silverstone, if you are interested in coming along and watching.
Date: Saturday 11th August
Place: Silverstone Circuit (main entrance), NN12 8TN
Time: Practice 9.30-12.00. Parade in Bentleys at 1.00, racing 1.30-5.00pm
Tickets: £11 per adult (15 and under free), or advance tickets £9 (see link below).
What is the event? It’s the Bentley Drivers Club annual race meeting, but including entries from old and new Morgans, ACs, MGs, Aston Martins and Jaguars. There will be the Bentley Parade and demonstration runs from the EXP Speed 8 Bentley Motors Le Mans car.
What can you do? Access is very open, with free access to pits, paddock, all grandstands. Wander around, look at the cars, chat to the drivers. At 1pm is a 3 lap parade around the (club) circuit, open to all Bentleys – if you are bold you can ask any of the drivers if they would mind giving you a ride – they are normally up for it, if they haven’t got a car full already. So bring a picnic and catch up with Alex who will be running the “social” side of things.
Where will I be? Not sure at the moment, but probably in the middle of the main Paddock – along with lots of other vintage Bentleys. My car looks like the attached (ie green with red wheels), but I don’t know my race number as yet. Alex, Ben & Sam will be there, together with Alistair (brother) and Julia (Mum).
Please forgive me if I don’t engage you in long conversations, but I’m hoping to enter 3 races (one shared with Randall Stewart, who won a race on its maiden outing last year, when we will change a wheel while swapping drivers), so I maybe a little distracted. For info, I’m entering the Bentley Scratch (race starts on main grid), Bentley Handicap (starts in pit lane and is very confusing to follow) and Keston Pelmore Challenge (with wheel/driver change).
Please can you let me know if you are interested in coming, or if you are not interested (so I don’t send you any more emails!), so we know who to look out for?
See you soon
