Environment Agency invitation to online consultation event - HPR1000 nuclear power station design
10 Feb, 2021
Webmaster
When: Tuesday 23 or Thursday 25 February, 5.30-7.30pm
Where: Zoom (telephone dial in option also available)
Who: This event is for local groups and the public (there will be similar events for national stakeholders)
We would like to invite you to attend an online event for local groups and the public where we will share and discuss the emerging findings of the Environment Agency’s generic design assessment (GDA) of the UK HPR1000 nuclear power station design. We are keen to hear your views on our work.
This event is part of our consultation process on the GDA of General Nuclear System Limited’s UK HPR1000 design. The aim of our consultation is to share our assessment work to date and to receive and understand stakeholders’ views.
The consultation is now live until 4 April 2021 and our documents are online.
We hope this event will help you to understand the GDA process, its context and the issues we’ve found. The event will involve a mix of presentations and discussions and enable you to feed back your views.
It is not a substitute for any formal consultation responses – and we hope you will find it useful in preparing your written response.
Our GDA findings are about the reactor design and not a specific site. However Bradwell Power Generation Company is developing plans to build and operate this design at Bradwell in Essex.
